There are many ways homes can be made more sustainable, including the use of solar energy, (passive, photovolataic and hot water), geothermal HVAC systems, tighter insulated building envelopes, and recycled and renewable finishes. New technology and products are constantly being developed which make sustainable design mainstream and cost-effective, and there are tax incentives available for homeowners who persue efficiency improvements.

Clients may choose to persue a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification process for new homes and renovations; we are partnering with construction management firms and landscape designers who can help achieve this goal. There may be more incentives and programs available in the near future for energy efficient home construction and retrofitting.
This is an exciting time for home design!

We use computer modeling from the beginning stages of the project to create a virtual building which can be viewed from any angle. We can site buildings in photographs for historic district approval, create fly-around and walk-through animations to allow our clients to fully understand their spaces, and we can generate animated sun-studies, helpful for for site placement.
